Cohutta
Feed & Country Store opened it’s doors at its temporary location
November 3, 2006. The owners Jim and Laurie McClearen
raise Beef Cattle and Dartmoor ponies on their farm
in Morganton. Jim and Laurie have have lived in the
Blue Ridge area for the last 15 years.
Laurie has been involved with horses
most of her life, starting with 4-H, Pony Club, riding
hunters, and now drives her ponies to a carriage. Recently
retired from her nursing career of 10 years, she is
full time in the store.
Jim has practiced veterinary
medicine for the past 32 years at Bells Ferry Veterinary
Hospital in Acworth, Georgia. His practice included
dogs, cats, rabbits, exotic birds, wildlife, pocket
pets, goats, pot bellied pigs, and a small amount of
cattle and horse work. |
Both Laurie and Jim have
been involved with agriculture for over 30 years, having
horses, cattle, dogs, and cats. Our interest and dedication
to young people, pet and livestock owners, farm families
and the community, have lead to the opening of Cohutta
Mountain Pet & Feed. This venue allows access to
Purina research and top quality foods, that we can individualize
to your animals needs. We welcome you to Cohutta
Feed & Country Store, where knowledgeable owners and staff will
do everything they can to help you, your family and
the creatures that help make your days better.
